Sophomore Zach Thomas buried a pair of three-pointers among his 15 first-half points for the 'Hounds, who gave up 25 points during the third period before holding their opponent to five points in the fourth.
Senior Andrew Dunsmore scored 15 of his game-high 19 points during the third frame for the Indians (5-12).
Sweet Springs had five players in double figures, including senior James DeWeese with 14 points and five steals and sophomore Nick Peeples with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The 'Hounds (6-9) travel to Slater on Tuesday for a non-conference, cross-county contest.
Otterville 81, Malta Bend 59
BUNCETON -- Juniors Kaleb Gaskell and Stetson Shirky combined for 30 first-half points for Otterville, which only added to its 13-point lead the rest of the way Saturday to beat Malta Bend in the third place game of the CCAA Tournament at Bunceton, 81-59.
Gaskell wound up with 25 points and Shirky had 22 for the Eagles (8-9), who went on a 26-11 run during the third period to prevent a comeback.
The Armstrong boys, junior Ryan and sophomore Tyler, each scored 15 points and sophomore Dillon Edde -- who finished second to Ryan Armstrong in the tourney's three-point contest -- added 14 for the Tigers (4-9). Malta Bend is due to host Higbee -- the tournament champion with a 50-48 overtime decision over the host Dragons -- for a CCAA contest Tuesday.
Girls
Sweet Springs 52, Green Ridge 30
WINDSOR -- Junior Stephanie Krause's three goals propelled the Sweet Springs girls to a 15-4 second period Saturday, shaking off an improved Green Ridge club to win the third place trophy at the Windsor Tournament, 52-30.
Once in command, the Lady Greyhounds never relented while putting together what head coach Boyd Jones called their "best game in the last two weeks." Even three bombs from senior Emmaly Harrison, who led the Lady Tigers (4-12) with 13 points, couldn't keep the game close.
Krause wound up with 14 points and senior Laura Keesaer led Sweet Springs (12-4) with 15 points and four steals. The Lady 'Hounds play Tuesday at Slater.
Higbee 38, Malta Bend 16
BUNCETON -- Junior Kristen Reynolds recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds, six steals and four blocked shots Friday as Higbee beat Malta Bend, 38-16, in the fifth-place game of the CCAA Tournament at Bunceton.
Senior Aimee Kelley had 10 points and seven steals for Higbee (2-13), which led 12-3 after one period and 20-6 at halftime.
The Lady Tigers (0-13) were topped by junior Jerrian Johnson's 10 points.
