Opal M. Reidenbach, 93, of Slater, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Rev. Jerry Basye will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "Face to Face" and "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Reidenbach, Dennis Reidenbach, Philip Reidenbach, Robert Blanton, Michael Blanton and David Jones. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat.
Born Feb. 13, 1914, in Lucerne, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Rosanne Akers Basye. On Dec. 19, 1938, in Osborn, she married William Eugene Reidenbach, who preceded her in death on June 1, 1991. She was a member of Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley, Ill. She resided in Rochelle, Ill., for many years before moving to John Knox Village in Lee's Summit in 1991. She moved to Slater in 2006.
She is survived by two sons, David Reidenbach of Rochelle, and Robert Reidenbach of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Rosanne Thompson of Sydney, Australia; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
