A 20-year-old Marshall man and a male juvenile were arrested for stealing a motor vehicle on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from a home on North Jefferson Avenue.

According to a press release from Marshall Police Department, the department was contacted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at about 10:05 p.m. about a stolen car.

MPD officers contacted the owner of the 1994 Mazda, which had been taken from in front of the home.

Shortly afterward, MPD was notified of a car revving its engine at a location on Darling Street, the release stated. Officers discovered the stolen car, which had been abandoned.

While at the location, a 9-1-1 telephone call reported two persons walking across the soccer field and approaching another car parked on North Hamner Avenue.

The report said the subjects were located and during the course of the investigation, two male suspects were arrested for stealing the car.

The 20-year-old Marshall man is being held pending the filing of charges. The male juvenile was also taken into custody, according to the release.
