Otto A. Schroeder, 80, formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, in Denver, Colo.
Burial will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver Jan. 17, 2008. Memorials may be made to Optimist Youth Club.
He was born June 29, 1927, in Boonville, the son of Otto G. and Sophie E. Schroeder. After graduating from Marshall High School in 1945, he joined the U.S. Navy and served for four years. He then attended University of Missouri and received a degree Colorado. He was a teacher and coach in the Denver school system for 36 years. He was active in the Optimist Club, serving as club president in Denver and district youth club chairman of the Colorado and Wyoming Optimist organizations.
He is survived by two sisters, Erietta Kunze of Marshall and Gloria Keary of Denver; two stepbrothers, Dan Williams of Sedona, Ariz., and Tom Williams of Warrensburg; one stepsister, Diana Woods of Marshall; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Schroeder.
