Alla Dee Franklin, 79, of Kansas City, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg. Entombment will be in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 14, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Parkinson Foundation. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
She was born in Preston Oct. 31, 1928, the daughter of Howard Harold Bandel and Leona Elizabeth Smith Bandel. She married Coxie M. Franklin in Preston on June 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2002. She was a graduate of Preston High School, a member of First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg, a member of the garden club, a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, active in numerous bridge clubs and the leader of the country-western band "Alla Dee and the Bandeleers."
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Mason and her husband, Randall, of Kansas City; four grandchildren, Darla Hennigh, Debra McGraw, Melinda Smith and Robert Mason; and six great-grandchildren.
