James Leon "Buddy" Tyler Jr., 44, of Marshall, formerly of Sweet Springs, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born Nov. 5, 1963, in Marshall, he was the son of James Leon Tyler Sr. of Marshall and Shirley Jean Phillips Adams and her husband, Walter, of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and was a graduate of Okmulgee College in Okmulgee, Okla. He worked at International Shoe Company, Rival Manufacturing and Eastman Mattress Factory.

Additional survivors include one son, Russell Leon Tyler of Moberly; two grandchildren; one brother, Philip Hontz of Marshall; and nieces and nephews.
