Dorothy M. Davis, 94, of Lexington, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Lexington Care Center in Lexington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Russ Davis, Steve Davis, Rick Davis, Mike Davis and Scott Davis. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Born Aug. 9, 1913, in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Roy Allison and Ida Hesker Allison. On July 2, 1932, in Hartville, she married R.L. Davis, who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1970. She had lived in Marshall since 1945 where she was a homemaker and, along with her husband, owned and operated Davis Shoe Store for many years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 25 years and served as assistant librarian along with being a member and director of W.M.U. and circle leader.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Davis and his wife, Diana, of Lexington and Eddie Davis and his wife, Alice, of Higginsville; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Davis of Springfield; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Don Davis, in infancy, and Robert L. Davis; one grandson, David Davis; three brothers, Dwayne Allison, Keith Allison and Kenneth Allison; and one sister, Charlotte Spreaker.
