He was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Cross Timbers, the son of the late Clarence J. Huff and Gertrude Ford Huff. He married Ruth Bell Simmons on Nov. 16, 1956, in Marshall; she preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2004. He was baptized at Zoar Baptist Church in Napton. He served in the U.S. Army and was then employed at International Shoe Company in Marshall for many years. He later worked at Lake City and Hercules Army Ammunition Plant. He retired from the Frito Lay Company in Topeka, Kan., after 25 years of service, in 1995. He was a member of American Legion Post in Topeka.
Survivors include one son, William C. Huff of Lenexa, Kan.; one daughter, Debra D. Whitaker of the home; four brothers, Donald E. Huff and James Leroy Huff, both of Marshall, Bobby Joe Huff of Carrollton and Charles Ray Huff of Higbee; five sisters, Helen Maxine Combs of Marshall, Mary Ruth Riley of Springfield, Janice Marie Arth and Joyce Ann Sitzes, both of Marshall, and Kathy Sue Derboven of Renick; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
