Frances B. Maguire, 83, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of rural Malta Bend, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007.

A memorial service will be held at Union Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow immediately after the memorial service at Union Baptist Cemetery Annex. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

She was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Odessa, to the late Myron and Emilie Hamilton Blosser. She graduated from Malta Bend High School and taught English at Marshall High School for a few years before moving to the Chicago area. She married Robert "Bob" Maguire on Oct. 12, 1957, at First Baptist Church in Marshall; they enjoyed 50 years together. They moved to Arlington in 1973 from Palatine, Ill. She was an English teacher at Tarrant County Junior College from 1974 to 1994 and had previously taught in Missouri and Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Maguire; two sons, Dan Maguire and Larry Maguire; five granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, William Blosser, Frank Blosser and George Blosser.
