Kathryn Louise Murphy Winkler, 68, of Marshall, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at her home.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home, with funeral services at 2 p.m. Rev. Russ Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Organist Ramona Bullington will accompany Martha Patterson as she sings "In the Sweet By and By." Pallbearers will be Wayne Henderson, Ethan Murphy, Jesse Murphy, Ronald Murphy, Justin Riley, Michael Riley and Josh Winkler.
She was born March 7, 1939, in Slater, the daughter of the late Emmet L. Murphy and Frances Fizer Lamkin, who survives of Slater. She married Benson L. Winkler on Feb. 18, 1962, in Marshall; he survives of the home. She was a resident of Saline County her entire life and had been employed at International Shoe Company and ConAgra in Marshall. She attended the Assembly of God church in Slater.
Additional survivors include one son, Benson L. Winkler Jr. of Sedalia; two daughters, Debra Riley of Lansing, Mich., and Sandra Cunningham of Orange Park, Fla.; one sister, Jeanette Host of Fayette; several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Haines.
