Velma Mae Garrison, 82, of Marshall, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Southside Assembly of God in Marshall, with William W. Harlow and Rev. Cliff Cato officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Southside Assembly of God in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born Jan. 20, 1925, in Dallas County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Arnold and Dessie Rash Arnold. On Feb. 19, 1938, she married Homer Garrison, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2007. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of Southside Assembly of God. She was a homemaker and worked at Marshall Habilitation Center for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Tennill of Unionville; one son, Jerry Garrison and his wife, Joyce, of Marshall; two granddaughters, Theresa Brooks and her husband, Jeff, and Laura Cassidy and her husband, Jake; one grandson, John Tennill; one great-grandson, Kevin Brooks; one brother, Bobby Arnold of Marshall; one sister, Aileen Gates of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, four sisters and one granddaughter, Jeannie Tennill.
