LAMONI, Iowa -- It took a dozen games, but the Missouri Valley College men's basketball team finally got a win for its effort Thursday with an 81-76 Heart of America Conference decision at Graceland.

The Vikings had their best offensive performance of the season, shooting 50.9 percent from the field and making eight of 15 three-point attempts. Four players scored in double figures, led by senior Boman Mullings 22 points.

Valley led by four points at halftime, due to its hot 56.0-percent shooting from the floor, and held off the Yellowjackets by making all eight second-half free throws.

Freshman Mike Malat topped Graceland (2-8, 0-3 HAAC) with 22 points.

Sophomore Rouven Haenig scored 14 points and juniors Brandon Toliver and Caleb Moon, who made four of five from beyond the arc, each tallied 13 points for the Vikings. Junior Craig Jones dished out eight assists and came up with three steals.

Valley (1-11, 1-2) will be at St. Ambrose (Iowa) for a non-conference rematch, having lost a one-point decision to the Fighting Bees during their Nov. 17 meeting in the Burns Athletic Center.
