Ruth E. Duffey, 83, of Blackburn, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Moore Funeral Home in La Monte. Rev. Glenn Nowack will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Blackburn Community Builders, in care of Moore Funeral Home.
She was born May 8, 1924, in Sweet Springs, the daughter of Arch and Lola (Scott) Grimes. On Sept. 28, 1940, she married Cheslie Duffey in Sedalia. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2001. She attended school in Sweet Springs and had worked for Grace Company in Belton as a seamstress in clothing.
Survivors include one son, Scott C. Duffey of Blackburn; three grandchildren, Kimberly Owen and her husband, Bill, Dana Sleeper and her husband, Randy, and Patrick Duffey and his wife, Tess; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
