Gary L. Dieckhoff, 69, of Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery, south of Concordia. Born July 30, 1938, in Alma, he was the son of the late Lorenz Dieckhoff and Mildred Louise Kessner Dieckhoff, who survives of Sweet Springs. He had lived in the Sweet Springs area most of his life. On April 18, 1960, he married Carolyn L. Hall, who survives. He worked at International Shoe Factory for many years and was a carrier for The Sedalia Democrat. He was also a member of the North American Hunting Club.
Additional survivors include four daughters, Julia Pennington, Janet Leonard, Dawn Alspaw and April Guffin, all of Sweet Springs; one son, G. Wesley Dieckhoff of Moberly; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Dieckhoff of Marshall; one sister, Sandra Jenkins of Alabama; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Massey; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
