Malta Bend students will have their first opportunity to play football after the Sweet Springs Board of Education unanimously agreed to allow the school to co-op with them in football.

The board met on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at noon to discuss the proposition with five of seven members present.

The agreement allows the two schools to combine the students wanting to play football into one team with a two-year agreement for high school and a one-year agreement for junior high.

Since the board has agreed, the arrangement will go before the Missouri State High School Athletics Association for final approval.
