Donald W. Newton, 63, of Marshall, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, with Rev. Kate McClain officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born Feb. 4, 1944, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Bernard Newton and Susie Jolliff Newton Shields. On Nov. 7, 1969, he married Wanda Giffen, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall his entire life and had worked at ConAgra Foods in Marshall for 32 years, retiring in December of 2000.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Edna "Suzy" Stone and her husband, Bruce, of Oak Grove; one granddaughter, Erica Delana; two brothers, Dennis Smith of Mora and Roger Newton of Marshall; two sisters, Linda Bellamy of Marshall and Shirley Edde of Malta Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Raymond Shields, and one brother, Robert Newton.
