Katherine Sue "Kitty Sue" Spradley, 94, of Marshall, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Dave Huck officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be John McCullough, Ed Zahn, Bryce Evans, Brad Evans, Greg Gaba and Dusty Ensley. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Children's Mercy Hospital. Born March 27, 1913, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Charles Taylor Thompson and Ann Burgess Thompson. On Dec. 19, 1936, she married Everette W. Spradley, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1995. She had lived in Marshall her entire life, was a graduate of Marshall High School and attended Missouri Valley College. She was a school teacher, having taught at Malta Bend, Excelsior Springs, Marshall Public Elementary Schools and Blosser Home for Crippled Children. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church since 1922, the oldest continual member, and was also a member of Chapter GM of PEO Sisterhood, Daughters of the American Revolution, The Monday Club and a former associate member of American Association of University Women.

Survivors include her daughter, Eleanor Beth Yorke and her husband, Shale, of Henderson, Nev.; one granddaughter, Michele Schatz of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two great-grandsons, Michael and Joseph Schatz; one niece, Carol Stoller of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two great-nephews, Ben Stoller and Andy Stoller of Colorado Springs, Colo.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Thompson and Frances Thompson Coffman.
