The Malta Bend Veterans Day Assembly will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, according to music teacher Michael Williams. The second and third grade class will sing and sign "I Love America" and second through fifth grade will sing selected songs from various branches of the military, he said. Students will also be collecting "gold bricks" honoring family members who are currently in the service or are veterans.

Rotary to host breakfast for veterans Nov. 12

The Marshall Rotary Club will sponsor its annual Veterans Day breakfast Monday, Nov. 12, at 8:30 a.m.

Veterans and their spouses are invited for a time of fellowship prior to the Veterans Day ceremony at the Saline County Courthouse at 11 a.m.

The breakfast will be hosted at the Marshall Senior Center, 72 W. Morgan St.

Rev. David Van Horn, chairman of the Rotary Veterans Day Breakfast Committee, offered thanks to the senior center staff for helping with the event.
