Mary Lee Davis, 78, of rural Smithton, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Grace Baptist Church in Sedalia, with Rev. Alvin Sipe officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be held in Smith Chapel Cemetery, south of Marshall. Pallbearers will be Dale Bush, Randoe Dice, Shane Dice, John Crawford, Kenneth Crawford and Joshua Dice. Born Dec. 14, 1928, to Claude Estes and Dorothy Margarete Cady Holden at their home in La Monte. She grew up in La Monte and north of Marshall. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1946 and completed college in Laramie, Wyo., in 1967. She had five children with Wesley E. Dice, of her first marriage. She later married Joe W. Davis on September 23, 1976, who had three children. She was a school teacher and homemaker. She was a Sunday school teacher and church clerk at Grace Baptist Church in Sedalia.

She is survived by her husband, Joe W. Davis of Smithton; eight children, Sheila Dice of New York, N.Y., Mark Dice and his wife, Pat, of Broomfield, Colo., Stephen Dice and his wife, Marilyn, of Houston, Texas, Julie Crawford and her husband, Harlan, of rural Sedalia, Dana Dice and wife, Julie, of New York, N.Y., Charlotte Sidwell and her husband, Brian, of Longwood, Joe Davis Jr. and his wife, Irma, of rural Marshall and Donna Bartel and her husband, Dewey, of rural Nelson; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
