3 Blackburn residents hurt in 1-car accident Nov. 4

Three Blackburn residents were injured in a one-car accident Sunday morning, Nov. 4, on Highway 135 at Cottonwood Road.

According to a report from Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1997 Plymouth, driven by Cindy L. Payton, 30, of Blackburn, ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch before coming to rest upside-down.

Two passengers, Chastitie Payton, 11, and Tyler Payton, 11, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Bothwell Hospital by ambulance. The driver sustained moderate injuries and was flown to University Hospital, Columbia.

All the occupants of the car were using their safety devices; damage to the car was total.
