Victor D. Grapes Sr., 65, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Old Lamine Cemetery in rural Cooper County. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials may be made to help the family defray expenses.
Born May 14, 1942, in Blackwater, he was the son of the late Victor C. Grapes and Lillie Marie Schrills Grapes. He had lived in Marshall most of his life and was a truck driver for many years. He attended Nelson Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Albert Allen Grapes of Sweet Springs, Jerry Wayne Grapes and Ray Edward Grapes of Marshall and Victor Dwayne Grapes Jr. of Eastman, Ga.; three daughters, Candy Sue Morrow of Sedalia, I-Lona Kay Fidler of Marshall and Juanita Marie Parker of Independence; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his companion, Velma Brown; two sisters, Joyce Lung of Kansas City and Glenda Sue Grapes of Blue Springs; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kay Hammons and Alleen Pucket; and two grandchildren, Breonna Grapes and William Grapes.
