Helen “Crawdad” Scheier Cole, 82, of Marshall, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Russ Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born Aug. 30, 1925, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late C.W. Barron and Bessie Jane Karrick Barron. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and had worked for International Shoe Company, F.M. Stamper Co. and Lake City Arsenal. She was a member of First Baptist Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Brown of rural Marshall; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, William Lee Smith; one grandson; three brothers, Everette Barron, Charles Barron and William Barron; and three sisters, Velma Mae Barron, Viola Beasley and Audrey Narron.
