Gabriel Rael Navarro, 47, of Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with Fr. Kevin Gormley officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Fairview Cemetery. Prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs, with visitation following until 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
Born Feb. 20, 1960, in Tempe, Ariz., he was the son of Henry Navarro and Inez Rael Navarro, who survive of Queen Creek, Ariz. He was raised in Sonora Town, Ariz., and was a 1978 graduate of Gilbert High School in Gilbert, Ariz. On Jan. 6, 1990, he married Kathy D. Koch, who survives of the home. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had lived in Sweet Springs the past 8 years, moving from Queen Creek. He was employed as a plumber at Five Star Mechanical in Raytown since moving to Sweet Springs. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Sweet Springs Athletic Boosters and Ducks Unlimited.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kati Jett of Blue Springs, Cianna Navarro of Phoenix, and Kaila Navarro of the home; four sons, Joseph Navarro of Phoenix, Lucas Navarro of Sedalia, Jacob Navarro and Jesse Navarro, both of the home; three grandsons; one brother, Henry Navarro Jr. of Arizona; four sisters, Susan Angelo of Gilbert, Ariz., Hope Wiers of Casa Grande, Ariz., Roxy Koch of Sweet Springs, Vanessa Navarro of Gilbert; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
