Mable Ree Williams, 83, of Slater, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at Kansas City Hospice Care in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church in Slater, with Bishop Carl Branch officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Slater. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at H. T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to The Cancer Institute, St. Luke’s Brain and Stroke Institute, Kansas City Hospice House or St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church.
She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Warren, Ark., the daughter of Ernest and Irene Anderson Tolefree. She was a member of St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church, where she was President of the Ministers’ Wives Council, a Sunday school teacher, church extension and a member of the Senior Choir. She married Bishop M. H. Williams on Aug. 10, 1946; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Hedrick Tolefree of Kansas City and Ralph Williams of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Marilyn Hockaday of Slater and Arlene Williams of Raytown; two brothers, David McFadden of Kansas City and Emanuel McFadden of the state of California; two sisters, Maudell Coleman of Chicago, Ill., and Martha Morris of Kansas City; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one son.
