The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings Wednesday, Oct. 17, for the Missouri River in Saline County. Heavy rain predicted for Wednesday following rain over the weekend is expected to cause minor flooding.

At Waverly (flood stage: 20 feet)

A flood warning continues for the Missouri River at Waverly until Thursday afternoon or until the warning is cancelled. At 4:45 a.m. Wednesday the stage was 20.2 feet and was expected to reach 20.5 feet Wednesday morning. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

At Miami (flood stage: 18 feet)

A flood warning continues for the Missouri River at Miami until Thursday evening or until the warning is cancelled. At 8:24 a.m. Tuesday the stage was 10.5 feet and was expected to reach 18.7 feet Wednesday afternoon. Minor flooding is forecast. The river will fall below flood stage by tonight.
