Fall is a great time to be a quilt lover. The quilt shows are plentiful.

This weekend -- Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 14, from noon to 4 p.m. -- it will be the Stitch by Stitch Quilter's Guild's turn to dazzle quilt fans with its beautiful designs.

The guild's annual Georgia Kateman Memorial Quilt Show will take place in Blackwater at 107 Main St. during the annual Blackwater Fall Fest.

Tickets for the show are $2. A drawing will be held for door prizes.

Tickets for the guild's raffle quilt will be sold at the show, too. The drawing for the quilt will be held in December, according to Michelle Wansing.

The show is in its fifth year. It was named for a charter member of the guild.

The guild was organized in June, 1994, for the purpose of promoting the love of quilting, according to members.

Regular meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month -- except June and December -- in the Community of Christ Church, 824 W. Morrow St. in Marshall.
