"The Heritage Craft Festival is unique among fall craft shows because it features the kinds of arts and crafts that would have been performed daily by your great-grandparents," said Sandy Selby, chairperson of the Historic Arrow Rock Council, the event's sponsor. "You'll have the opportunity to see live demonstrations of these crafts and talk to the artisans who are keeping these rare art forms alive."
Nineteenth century crafts on display will include spinning, weaving, doll making, blacksmithing, flintknapping, rug hooking, candle dipping, apple butter making, quilting and dozens more.

"It's truly a trip into the past," Selby said. "When you listen to the old-time music, taste the funnel cakes and watch the master artisans at work, all while surrounded by the historic architecture of Arrow Rock, you'll think you've walked into the 1800s."
The two-day, family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. An old-time worship service will be held in the 1872 Christian Church on Sunday at 8:45 a.m.
