Murrel E. Ferguson, 60, of Marshall, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
Memorial services with military rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Rev. Glenn Nowak will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall.
He was born Aug. 26, 1947, in St. Louis, the son of the late Jessie C. Ferguson and Wanda Jo Landreth Ferguson. He married Marilyn Scheidt, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 11, 2001, in Versailles, he married Vickie S. Brown, who survives of the home. He had been employed by several telephone companies around the country as well as commercial high rise window maintenance. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and had been a resident of Marshall for the past 5 years.
Additional survivors include two stepsons, Rocky Alexius of Fort Sill, Okla., and James Reed of Sedalia; three stepdaughters, Ava Dickerson of Stover, Catherine Reed of Warrensburg and Cynthia Donnell of Marshall; one sister, Mona Miller of Branson; and many grandchildren.
