Robert Keating "Bob" Farrell, 83, of Marshall, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Kevin Gormley officiating. Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Monday at the church, with visitation following until 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Gilliam Cemetery in Gilliam. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, Fitzgibbon Cancer Center or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Gilliam, he was the son of the late Joseph E. Farrell and Maude G. Flynn Farrell. On Dec. 5, 1947, he married Marideen Fisher, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall since 1963, moving from Glasgow. He was a retired telegraph operator and depot agent for G.M.&O. Railroad and I.C.&G. Railroad. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 876, VFW Post 2646, American Legion Post 191 in Marshall and the Antique Engine Club. He was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran of World War II.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Louise Batal and her husband, Joe, of Columbia and Erin Medcalf and her husband, Brad, of Marshall; seven grandchildren, Heather Farrell, Jennifer Jones, Brittany Batal, Megan Batal, Joelle Batal, Brenden Medcalf and Brayden Medcalf; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Genevieve O'Rourke of Kansas City; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gregory S. Farrell; three sisters, Dorothy Butler, Kathrine Kopek and Mary Louise Brown; and one brother, Joseph Farrell.
