James Harvey Alspaw, 77, of Marshall, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be held at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Dec. 5, 1929, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Theodore Alspaw and Alice Bullard Alspaw. On April 18, 1962, he married Shirley A. Ellis, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall most of his life and attended the Marshall Family Worship Center. He had worked at Lake City Arsenal for 20 years, retiring in 1985, and was a school bus driver for Marshall Public Schools for 10 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 2646 in Marshall.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Sheila Eklund and her husband, Jerry, of Topeka, Kan.; one son, Joseph Narron and his wife, Penny, of Waverly; three grandchildren, Jamie Narron and his wife, Andrea, Joey Narron and his fiancÚ, Natalie, and Corie Wilson and her husband, Nathan; nine great-grandchildren, Joseph, Paige, Joshua, Blake, Taylor, Matthew W., Matthew O., Bradley and Johnathon; two sisters, Dovie Petit of Marshall and Darlene Scharnhorst of Warrensburg; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Alspaw.
