Robert W. "Bob" Thomas, 71, of Warsaw, formerly of Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Born July 18, 1936, in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late William Wallace Thomas and Mary Kathryn Sadie Gieseke Thomas. He was a graduate of Warrensburg College High School and served four years in the 35th Infantry of the Missouri National Guard in Warrensburg. On July 17, 1958, he married Alberta Adair, who survives of the home. He had lived in Warsaw the last 10 years, moving there from Sweet Springs, and worked for United Sprint Telephone for over 42 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Warrensburg.
Additional survivors include five sons, Robert Dean Thomas of Hughesville, David Kelly Thomas of Sweet Springs, Kenneth Ray Thomas of Eldon, Rodney Allen Thomas and Kevin Thomas, both of Sweet Springs; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ann McQueen of Odessa, Jean Kropp of Sedalia, Judy Hayes of Centerview and Susie Lewman of Warrensburg; one brother, Jerry Thomas of Hughesville; and nieces and nephews.
