Lucile Kateman, 96, of Marshall, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Dave Huck officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Arrow Rock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Arrow Rock Cemetery Association or Friends of Arrow Rock. Born March 27, 1911, near Americus, she was the daughter of the late William E. Davis and Lisetta Schneider Davis. On April 23, 1937, in New Florence, she married Sidney Kateman, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1997. She had lived in Marshall since 1944. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Arrow Rock, its Women's Guild and was a Sunday school teacher at the church. She was an avid gardener and seamstress.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet "Jan" Hinnah and her husband, Dale, of rural Arrow Rock; two sisters, Melba Price of Columbia and Allie Mae Meyer of Marionville; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
