Columbia man suffers minor injury in accident on I-70

Monday, September 17, 2007
A 30-year-old Columbia man was taken to I-70 Medical Center in Sweet Springs Sunday, Sept. 16, after an accident involving three vehicles at the 67 mile marker on Interstate 70.

Aaron C. Cook suffered minor injuries in the accident, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. when the 1999 Lexus driven by Cook came in contact with a 2005 Kenworth truck driven by Christopher C. Jackson, 44, of Edwardsville, Kan., according to the report.

Cook apparently lost control of his vehicle, which went off the roadway, struck a guardrail and came to rest in the median.

A third vehicle, a 2000 Hummer driven by Jeffrey P. Waggoner, 45, of St. Joseph, was struck by debris from the vehicle Cook was driving, troopers said.

No injuries were reported for the other drivers. No summons was issued. All drivers involved were wearing safety belts, according to the report.
