Two people were injured, one seriously, in separate accidents in Saline County Friday, Sept. 14, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

The first accident occurred at 8:15 a.m. on U.S. 65 about a half mile west of Route BB.

David A. Taylor of Trenton received minor injuries when the pickup truck he was driving struck the rear of another pickup truck driven by Dan J. Frank, 39, of Carrollton, according to the report.

Troopers said Taylor was cited for careless and imprudent driving. Both drivers were wearing safety belts.

The second accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Highway 20 about one mile east of Blackburn.

A 16-year-old Blackburn woman was seriously injured and was taken by air ambulance to a Kansas City hospital after the 1990 Jeep Cherokee she was driving struck the rear of a 1996 Kenworth truck driven by Randall L. Mahnken, 51, of Alma, troopers said.

Nichole J. Ramsdill was issued a summons for following too closely and for failure to wear a safety belt, according to the patrol report.
