Christopher James Hoffelmeyer, 45, Marshall, Missouri, died September 13, 2007 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Born April 18, 1962, in St. Joseph, Missouri, he was the son of Gerald H. Hoffelmeyer and Patricia J. Hoffelmeyer, St. Joseph. He was a graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School and attended Missouri Western State University. On July 14, 1984 he married Julie A. Scott, who survives of the home. They resided in Grand Junction, Colorado, then moved back to St. Joseph. From there they moved to Marshall, where he resided for the rest of his life.
He worked for a long time as a paramedic for Saline County Ambulance in Marshall and then as a paramedic for Heartland Health Systems in St. Joseph. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was an avid fan of NASCAR and the NFL Football.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Marshall and a former member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church in St. Joseph.
He is also survived by two sons, Joshua R. Hoffelmeyer, Columbia, Missouri and Daniel A. Hoffelmeyer, of the home; his daughter, Maggie E. Hoffelmeyer, of the home.
Additional Survivors include brother, Paul H. Hoffelmeyer; three sisters, Catherine M. Ridens, Julie M. Pfleiderer and Sara M. Edwards; 13 nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial Service 5:30 P.M. Saturday, September 22, 2007, First Christian Church, Marshall, Missouri. A Mass of Christian was held at the St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church.
