Helen Reid Cross, 93, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel, with Rev. Dave Huck officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Order of the Eastern Star will hold a service at 12:45 p.m. prior to the visitation. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal. Born July 20, 1914, in Elsberry, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Reid and Margaret Rose Reid. On Sept. 19, 1942, she married William Warren Cross, who preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1963. She had lived in Marshall since moving from Hannibal in 1942. She retired from the Marshall State School and Hospital after 34 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wesleyan Service Guild, Marshall Chapter 408 Order of the Eastern Star, past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 191, member of Triangle Shrine 36 and was active in the Marshall Senior Sentor.
Survivors include several cousins.
