Carol S. French, 61, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Sweeny-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall, with Rev. Cale Magruder officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Bales Sr., Will Crisp, Wayne Loper and Jose Umana. Pallbearers will be Jesse Bales, Perry Bales Jr., Bill French, Brian French, Anner Umana and Tommy Wade. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Sweeny-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
Born Jan. 13, 1946, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Ira W. French Sr. and Grace E. Moore French. She was a resident of the Marshall and Saline County area all her life and was a school bus driver for Marshall public schools for many years. She attended Health Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Donnie Francis Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Nelson; one daughter, Tammy Umana of Sweet Springs; one adopted daughter, Christy Nichols of Kansas City; one sister, Bessie Bales of Sweet Springs; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one adopted daughter, Heather Sanders; one brother, William French Jr.; and one sister, Mary Wade.
