Marsha S. Heard, 53, of Marshall, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Slater, with Rev. Lowell Moore officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "In the Garden" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Burial will be in the Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Crawford, Richard Kirby, Olin Durham Jr., Pete Durham, Tom Gilliam and Ricky Burks. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Born Sept. 12, 1953, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine Kruger Burks. On Feb. 14, 1970, in Slater, she married Samuel Heard, who survives of the home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Virginia Heard of Marshall; two grandchildren; two brothers, Donald J. Burks of Moberly and Ricky D. Burks of Slater; and one sister, Dorothy M. Durham of Marshall.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Viriginia Ann Burks; one brother, William J. Burks; and one granddaughter, Sami Heard.
