Adventures in Libraryland/Pre-autumn flurry of new programs at the library

Wednesday, August 29, 2007
You ever notice how once the schools start back up, your mind gets a bit more organized? Even though I am no longer in school, I still tend to put my nose to the grindstone a bit more in late August or early September. Maybe it's because we only have little parts of the library renovation project to finish and my focus can shift to other things. Perhaps it's the mentality of preparing for winter. I don't know. But this week, I really started lining things up for library programs through the end of the year. I am pleased to be offering the following at the library for September:

-- Computer class

-- Gardening program

-- TAB

-- Pitch Game

-- Classic Book Club

-- Up For Discussion Book Club

-- Banned Book Week drawing and display

Would you like a good place to find out answers to basic car questions? Wondering what if that sound your car makes is normal? Go to http://www.familycar.com and click on car repair -- not only can you find answers to those questions and more, you can also learn a lot about how your car works in their Web Classroom. It's a great site!

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month and to celebrate, the library will give a Tootsie Roll Pop to each person who gets a new library card. Sorry -- it doesn't apply to lost cards!
