Lawrence S. "Sam" Mark, 68, of Marshall, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Sweet Springs Villa. Born Jan. 23, 1939, in Saline County, son of the late John W. Mark and Elsie Pannell Mark. He was a 1956 graduate of Marshall High School and a graduate of Trenton Junior College. On Feb. 8, 1971, in Angola, Ind., he married Mary Frizzell Green, who survives of the home. He lived in Marshall most of his life and was a retired mechanic. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Brothers of the Third Wheel.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Karla Lara and her husband, Jose, of Mabank, Texas, and Samantha Cheek and her husband, Randy, of Bullard, Texas; one stepson, Michael Green and companion, Lesia Dilley, of Sweet Springs; three grandchildren, James Lara, Brys and Bradley Cheek; and one great-grandson, Pablo Lara.
