Robert E. "Bob" Riley, 77, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
Cremation. Memorial graveside services with military rites will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with William W. Harlow officiating. Born Feb. 26, 1930, in Thayer, he was the son of the late Joe Riley and Minnie May Acree Riley. In February 1956, he married Kae "Frankie" McElwee who preceded him in death. He lived in Marshall most of his life. He was a truck driver before working for Union Pacific, ConAgra and Marshall Municipal Utilities. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and was a member of V.F.W. Post 2646 in Marshall.
Survivors include three daughters, Maureena England and her husband, LeRoy, of Blackwater, Teresa Hicks of Independence and Kellie Downing of Independence; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Riley of Marshall; two sisters, Melba Jean Conn of Lebanon and Dorothy Ann Raines of Marshall; plus several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers.
