Adventures in Libraryland: Library plans rummage sale

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Well, it only took us four months to get around to cleaning out the room that served as a storage area during the library renovations. Anything that was in our way got shoved in that room, which is actually the staff break room. As part of that cleaning process, we now have a bunch of items that we no longer need and so we are following in that great tradition of the rummage sale.

On Friday, Aug. 17, from 12 to 5 p.m., the library will be holding an indoor rummage sale in our meeting room. We've got everything from a low vision reader machine to used DVD cases to board table chairs to a Trivial Pursuit contest trophy. Everything is sold as is. See you there!

Did you ever get an email with a warning or an alert about something that happened to someone you've never met in another place? If you'd like to find out if the story is true, take a look at http://www.snopes.com, a website that is constantly updated and will allow you to find out if a story is verified or just an urban legend.

Now that the summer reading is over, the library staff is taking its annual break from story times. There will be no story times during the month of August.
