Trash collection times change due to heat

Due to high temperatures, the Department of Municipal Services, Street and Sanitation has adjusted hours for trash collection.

All routes will begin at 6 a.m. All trash should be at curbside by that time.

Skelton to attend ribbon cutting for new Head Start center Aug. 16

U.S. Rep. Ike Skelton is expected to be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house celebrating the opening of the new Head Start center, 1498 N. U.S. 65 in Marshall.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, according to Pam LaFrenz, Head Start director.

Theft of trailer reported

The Marshall Police Department is investigatng the theft of a five-foot by 10 foot enclosed Eron cargo-style trailer belonging to Ronald Breshears from 457 N. Bond. The trailer had a large quantity of carpenter's hand tools in it. The trailer is black in color, with Missouri license TGL108. Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of the trailer or suspicious activity is requested to contact Marshall Police at 660-886-7411.
