Louise Virginia (Lawrence) Franklin, 81, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Marshall with Bishop E. T. Sims and Rev. Stanley Patton officiating. Burial will be in Finnis Creek Cemetery in Saline County. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at H. T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall. Donations may be made to Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church or to Pennytown.
She was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Saline County, the daughter of Stanley and Josephine Henderson Lawrence. She attended school at Thornlea Elementary School in Pennytown, and graduated from C. C. Hubbard High School, Sedalia. She was a foster grandparent and a board member of Pennytown Freewill Baptist Church. She attended C. J. Walker Beauty School. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Usher Board. She married Edward Franklin, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two stepsons, Larry Franklin and Sam Franklin, both of Kansas City; one stepdaughter, Joyce Frazier of Kansas City; one sister, Pearl Vandever of Des Moines, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one grandchild; and one stepdaughter.
