Steve T. Kateman, 54, of rural Marshall, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Marshall.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 30, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation was held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers were Justin Kateman, Jeff Coslet, Clyde Alspaw, Neal Shoemaker, Lee Gipe and James Breshears Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or family choice. Born May 13, 1953, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Victor Hugo Kateman and Christine W. Turner Kateman. He was a 1971 graduate of Marshall High School. On Sept. 22, 1973, he married Diane McDaniel, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and was assistant manager of Marshall Foodliner where he had worked for 38 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Stephen E. Kateman and wife, Kristin, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Magon Kateman, of the home; three grandchildren, Kayla, Kalynn and Maddi; one brother, David C. Kateman of rural Arrow Rock; one sister, Vicki A. Sauble of Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
