Dorothy Maybelle Shalloo, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H., following a brief illness.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Arrow Rock Cemetery in Arrow Rock. Rev. Tony Gallagher will officiate. Donations may be sent to Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad, Second Congregational Church in Londonderry, Vt., Woodland Presbyterian Church in Algiers, La., or the charity of donor's choice.
She was born Jan. 29, 1916, in Kansas City, the daughter of Clyde Jamison Davis and Elizabeth Louise Piper Davis, and raised in New York City, N.Y. She spent most of her adult life in Washington, D.C., where she worked for a kitchen design group until retiring to New Orleans, La., in 1983. She was a member of Woodland Presbyterian Church in Algiers, La., where she was active in the S.T.A.I.R. program. Upon moving to Londonderry, Vt., she attended Second Congregational Church.
She is survived by two nephews, Joseph Pickard of Londonderry, and Kevin Pickard of Fredericksburg, Texas; four grandnephews; and two grandnieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Shalloo Bowman; a brother, Clyde Jamison Davis Jr.; and a sister, Lounora Davis Pickard.
