Helen C. Wilson, 98, of Marshall, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007, at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Barry Baugh will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Nov. 14, 1908, in Napton, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Heckman and Margaret Cenia Custer Heckman. On Nov. 17, 1926, she married George S. Wilson, who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1994. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a 1926 graduate of Napton High School. She was a cook at Blosser Home for Crippled Children for 16 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, where she had been very active for many years.
Survivors include one son, H.H. Wilson of rural Marshall; one daughter-in-law, Betty Wilson of Marshall; four grandchildren, LuAnn Brown, Brent Wilson, Susan Martin and Kimberly Davis; eight great-grandchildren; one niece, Jane Harris of Slater; one nephew, Donald Hughes of the state of California; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert F. Wilson and wife, Joan; and one sister, Mary Frances Hughes.
