Dorothy Pollard Samson, 84, of Marshall, died Friday, July 6, 2007, at her sister's home in Marshall .
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall with Fr. Tom Alber officiating. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Larry Widel, Bernard Martin, Pat Martin, Bob Martin, John Craig and Steve Pollard. Born April 12, 1923, in Pilot Grove, she was the daughter of the late Urban Joseph Martin and Martha Theresa Felten Martin. On Sept. 5, 1942, she married Walter W. Pollard, who preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1992. On Oct. 23, 1993, she married Clarence F. Samson, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2004. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a retired X-ray technician at the Marshall Habilitation Center. She had also worked for Fitzgibbon Hospital. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and over 50-year member of Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Pollard of Los Gatos, Calif.; three sisters, Mildred Moore of Marshall, Theresa Lang of Boonville, and Sister Joan Marie Martin, RSM, of Gladstone; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Walter J. "Wally" Pollard; four brothers, Bernard Martin, Norbert Martin, Urban John "Bob" Martin and Eugene Martin; and one sister, Helen Widel.
