Joyce A. Jett, 92, of Slater, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 6, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. William W. Harlow will officiate, Connie Clements, organist, will accompany Donald Martin as he sings, "How Great Thou Art," and "One Day at a Time." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Clements Jr., Dean Mullins, Melvin Mullins, Gilbert Lamb, Ira Crumbaugh Jr. and Steve Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Elson, Joe Clements Sr., Jimmy Willis, Leland Harris, Dan Crumbaugh, John Markovich, Tom Papreck and Jack Uhrig. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat.
Born Oct. 8, 1914, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob W. and Sarah Nickell Tillotson. On Dec., 21, 1941, in Glasgow, she married William F. Jett; he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1989. She was a lifelong Saline County resident and was a Baptist.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Clevenger and her husband, Buck, of Marshall; two grandsons, Matthew Shane Clevenger and his wife, Rachael, of Sedalia and William Jeffrey Clevenger and his wife, Lori, of Midland, Texas; and two great-grandsons, Tyler Clevenger and Bryce Clevenger.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
