Independence Day 2007

Arrow Rock:

On July 4, movie memories from "Tom and Huck" filmed in Arrow Rock in 1972 will be held at 10 a.m. at the Christian Church on Main St. Old fashioned games such as hoops, sack races, jump rope, croquet and tug-o-war will be played at 11 a.m. A parade down Main St. will begin at 1 p.m. The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater will show "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" at 2 p.m. A picnic buffet will be held at "Becky Thatcher's home" on Main St. at 5:30 p.m.

Marshall:

On July 3, the Marshall Habilitation Center celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. with food and a social. The Marshall Municipal Band will hold a concert from 8 to 9 p.m. A fireworks display will follow the concert.

On July 4, the Marshall Municipal Band will play at 8 p.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the children's playground at Indian Foothills Park. A fireworks display will follow at dark.

Slater:

On July 4, Slater Park will hold a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

Sweet Springs:

On July 4, the Sweet Springs Fire Department will have a chicken barbecue starting at 11:30 a.m. until tickets sell out. The Sweet Springs Optimist Club will have a food stand and host games starting at 4 p.m. The worship team from Assembly of God church will hold a concert beginning at 5 p.m.
